I’ve discovered one of the hardest things in the writing industry to get people to notice you. If no one knows who you are, they won’t buy your work. Social media can reach out to people you don’t know. But still there’s the difficulty is selling. You can get followers, but what about buyers.
I’ve always enjoyed writing, and of course I thought the things I write about would interest people. I’m not sure if it’s because people don’t know the books are there. It can be discouraging, but I keep on focusing on the fact that I love writing, I love what I write about. And that the key, I won’t write about something else just because it might be more popular.
It’s important for me to write about what I enjoy, my research opens up a whole other world. And nothing can beat that.
