Oreti Beach – Southland’s Coastal Highway.

Oreti Beach is a unique adrenaline junkie’s paradise. One of the only beaches in New Zealand that enables vehicles to cross its sandy depths.

Around 26km in length, Oreti Beach offers a beautiful landscape for horse riding, 4-wheel driving, wind-powered vehicles, as well as all the other great activities like kayaking, dog walking, surfing and swimming.

“Gazing out across the waters on Oreti Beach, once called Ma te Aweawe (Misty Way). Watch as the people before you go off into the distance, appearing to float above the sand and disappearing into the mist.” (Journey in Little Paradise)

One of the locations for ‘The World’s Fastest Indian’, telling the story of motorcycle legend Burt Munro.

Whether you’re stuck at home right now, or living in New Zealand and wanting to explore some of the beautiful locations NZ has to offer, then grab a copy of my NZ travel e-book ‘Journey in Little Paradise’ for some great tips and ideas for your next holiday.
