Curio Bay – An Ancient Gem Hidden South of Invercargill.

Porpoise and Curio Bays are legendary locations in NZ. The rare Hector dolphin surfs the waves, coming so close to the shore without even been feed.

There’s nothing quite like bobbing in the ocean alongside these beautiful creatures. Spying the penguins, fur seals and sea lions lumbering their way along the coastline.

Adventures also lie on land with the exploration of an ancient fossilized forest once tide has gone out. “When the tide rolls out in Curio Bay it exposes an ancient fossil forest. This is one of the most extensive and least disturbed examples of a Jurassic fossil forest in the world.” (https://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/toyota-kiwi-guardians/all-sites/south-island/curio-bay/)

A gorgeous spot to explore on the southern coastline near Invercargill.

Can’t leave your couch? Well, ‘Journey in Little Paradise’ breaks down some of the stunning locations in NZ. My travel ebook is ideal for getting a little more insight about NZ, and maybe prepping for a future holiday. J
